About Ortahisar

Ortahisar is a quiet Cappadocian town between Göreme and Ürgüp, named after the rock castle that rises in its centre. Carved inside with rooms and passages, the castle is one of the region's landmarks. Rock-cut storehouses in the town are still used to keep produce such as lemons, potatoes and apples, and with its narrow streets and old stone houses Ortahisar attracts those who want a closer look at traditional village life.
