About Dalyan
Dalyan is a town on the reed-lined channel that links Lake Köyceğiz with the sea. The rock-cut royal tombs of ancient Kaunos, carved into the cliffs across the river, are its landmark. Boats leave from the riverside for the ruins of Kaunos, the mud baths at the Sultaniye hot springs and İztuzu Beach, a protected nesting site for loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta). The town lies within a specially protected area, and river boats are central to daily life.
