About Turgutreis
Turgutreis is a large coastal town at the western end of the Bodrum peninsula, named after the Ottoman admiral Turgut Reis. His statue on the waterfront, the marina and the sunsets behind the small islands offshore are among the town's landmarks. With a year-round population, a large weekly market and many holiday complexes and summer homes, it is one of the liveliest places on the peninsula. In summer, sea connections to the Greek islands also run from the harbour.
