Göltürkbükü is a municipality formed by the neighbouring bays of Gölköy and Türkbükü on the northern coast of the Bodrum peninsula. Türkbükü, with its wooden piers reaching into the sea, beach clubs and stylish restaurants, is known as one of the peninsula's most fashionable summer addresses. Gölköy, by contrast, has a calmer, more family-oriented atmosphere. Boutique hotels and pier-based beach areas line both bays, and the area becomes very lively in summer.
